The Louisiana State Quiz Bowl is for students in 9th - 12th grade. The contest uses questions from the standard NAQT state-championship set. We are proud to say that First Baptist Christian School competed in this contest for the first time. We are very proud of our contestants. FBCS' team was the youngest in attendance, where most teams consisted of just seniors and juniors, we sent 2 freshmen, 2 sophomores and 1 senior. Led by senior, Christinia Lindsly, they competed with confidence, and won one match. The competition was held in Baton Rouge on the LSU campus. Students from all over the state, and from all sizes of schools, were in attendance. Congratulations for a job well done. Can't wait until next year! Every two years the 9th & 10th grade students at First Baptist Christian School participate in an Ultimate Fieldtrip. This year was the year!
The students, along with school and parent chaperones, drove to Williamstown, KY to experience the Ark Encounter! Students and adults were awed at the magnitude of the ark. It was a pretty amazing sight to see. Seeing the ark, and visualizing the life before and after the flood, and getting a glimpse of life on the ark, confirmed that the Bible story was remarkably real. The group toured all three levels of the ark, and enjoyed the Creation Museum as well.
On the return trip, a stop in Nashville was made so that the students could enjoy an opportunity to experience rock-climbing at an indoor facility called "Climb Nashville".
The entire trip was an incredible experience for all that attended and will be memorable for many years to come.
Passionate about the Lord, our students and our school!
